Microcredit FAQ:
What is microcredit?
Microcredit is a Millennium bcp network designed to finance and promote people and micro-companies with workable business initiatives, that would traditionally not have access to credit, with the aim of creating/facilitating job posts.
Who is it for?
All those who meet two basic requirements: having a viable business idea and an entrepreneurial profile. Unemployed, immigrants, retired employees, house-wives and 'small' micro-companies (Millennium bcp Clients or otherwise), for example, are included.
What's the national coverage of microcredit and where are the respective Project Managers located?
At this initial stage it is not yet possible for us to endorse microcredit projects throughout the entire country. We have 5 branches: in Lisbon, Oporto, Braga, Funchal and Ponta Delgada, where we have 12 Project Managers working within set action zones. Project Managers are responsible for a certain geographical area (organized by ZIP codes), and frequently travel to the Client's place of business in order to follow up on the process and provide counseling.
How can I apply for microcredit?
You can do so in a number of ways: by calling our Call Center on 707 500 075,
filling out a form at www.millenniumbcp.pt,
filling out the microcredit brochure, visiting one of our microcredit branches (Lisbon, Oporto and Braga) or even any Millennium bcp branch office.
What's the maximum amount for microcredit?
We provide up to 15.000 EUR per applicant,
and there are two sorts of loans: individual or group.
What documentation do I need to apply for microcredit?
As soon as the applicant has been allocated a Project Manager, a meeting will be set up where the applicant will be informed of all of the documentation necessary to start the financing operation.
